Salouk National Park and Protected Area with about 17,000 hectares area in northwest of Esfarayen city has 30km distance to the center of North Khorasan Province. This area has a good animal variety and is one of the most important protected areas in Iran in terms of animal life. The plain-mountainous topographic conditions of the area have made this region one of the most diverse wildlife habitats in Iran. The Northern part of the park is mountainous that is the habitat of animals living in the mountains, and the Southern part is also suitable for animals living in the plain. Also, in the valleys of this park, tree species and shrubs such as Barberry, Willow, Fig, Walnut, and in highlands Aras species are scattered and massive.
