Historical City of Belqeis

The famous complex of Belqeis is one of the country’s largest fictile heritage, which is the remains of Esfarayen ancient city, consists of various parts including the citadel, ditch, city fence, internal facilities and cemetery, which is about 150 hectares totally. Archaeological excavations in this complex shows the first settlement in the Belqeis city is back to the 3th-4th centuries AH. And living had existed in it until the end of the Safavid period. The unspoiled and most striking work of the Belqeis is the remains of the citadel, which has 29 towers with a height of about 11 meters.
